into frequency(in Hz)and wavelength(in µm)

1 cm = (1/100) m
Hence, 1 cm-1 = 100 m-1
Wavenumber = 1/λ = 2881 cm-1 = 2881 x 100 m = 2.881 x 105 m-1

Frequency ν
= c/λ
= c(1/λ)
= (2.998 x 108 m s-1) x (2.881 x 105 m-1)
= 8.637 x 1013 s-1
= 8.637 x 1013 Hz

Wavelength λ
= 1/(2.881 x 105 m-1)
= 3.471 x 10-6 m
= (3.471 x 10-6 m) (1 x 106 μm m-1)
= 3.471 μm
