Is it safe to stay in UK rail station at mid-night? (Urgent)

Planning a trip from london to windermere. But i need to have an interchange of train in the wolverhampton at mid-night, coz it is a cheap priced train, i need to change 3 times. So i'll need to wait for the next train for 3 hrs from 2am to 5am in the Wolverhampton rail station. Does anybody know if it is safe to stay in the station for an interchange at midnight?

It is very dangerous to stay alone outside during those hours
i would not suggest you to do so

and i am not sure if you would be allowed to stay in the station overnight
(if it needs to be shut down for maintainence or cleaning)

maybe you can do some research online at the rail station websites

i guess some stations are closed in midnight? last time i wanted to stay at london victoria station and they kicked me out becoz the station was closed... but since i had nowhere else to go, i ended up sitting outside right next to the entrance where the security guards were... though i'm not sure if there are security guards in wolverhampton....

Not a good idea, from my experience, usually there will always be some drunks & junkies around the station. At nite time, police protection is almost non-existence, if something goes wrong, you are basically on your own.

Are there any other alternatives?

Wolverhampton is situated at the Midlands close to Birmingham, safety wise it is probably better than being in the city, if you have no other choice.

Does that Ans your question?
