The energy comes from the air inside the room.1. The heat from the hot object is absorbed by the air inside the room which is at a lower temperature. The heated air will then dissipate the excess heat to outside surroundings by various means.
2. The object absorbs heat from the room air which is hotter than the object until both of them are at the same temperature.

the heat energy of a body is mass x heat capacity x temperature.
since the mass of surroundings is so large that the temperature
seems no change.
just like if you put a cup of boiling water in a sea.
the sea will not have any temperature change .
