Nocid is a brand name of omeprazole. Omeprazole is a commonly used for treating Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), esophagitis, and duodenal or duodenal ulcers. This drug will suppress your gastric secretion to promote healing. Its common side-effect has headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, changes in bowl movement or pattern (abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, passing gas), acid refurgitation, rash, backpain, and upper respiratory infections. Some people respond differently but not everyone will have experience these side effects. Contact your doctor immediately if you are experiencing cloudy or bloody urine, chest pain, changes in heart beat (less than 60 or greater than 100), difficulty breathing, and usual bleeding (brown vomit like coffee ground, black stool). This medication cannot be crush or chew. It has to be swallowed whole, preferable before meal. You should also avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
