活在當下 in English is "Live in the present".

somehow I think 活在當下 is more elegant in its own way, but...that's how we use it in English.

I'd love to help but my Chinese is pretty bad, so if you can explain what 活在當下 is in basic English I might be able to help.

樹葉在陽光照射下photosynthesize
Leaves will undergo photosynthesis in the sun.
The process of photosynthesis occurs in leaves in sun light. (more scientific)
Photosynthesis = noun
Photosynthesise (or photosynthesize - american spelling) = verb

活在當下 - thanks for explaining that. I'm not aware of the Latin term you're referring to with the same/similar meaning. We usually just say 'been satisfy with what you have' to mean 活在當下. Or the closest term i can tink of is 'Laissez-faire', meaning 'let go, let it be'.

Someone suggested 'carefree' - well, I guess not really as this is more of a adjective for a person who's free from care and troubles.

'Cease the day' means somehing different - similar to 'don't let the opportunity go'. Almost the same as 'live the moment'.
'Live in the present' doesn't really carry the same meaning as 活在當下at all
