SUPER URGENT!

1. Find the equation of the line perpendicular to y=3, and which passes through the point (−2, 4)

2. A line passes through the point (a, a^1/2). The slope of the line is 1/2a^−1/2. Give the equation of the line.

3. If the curve y=√(ax) passes through the point (p, q), then the curve y=3√(ax)−2 passes through the point (p, ___ )?

✔ 最佳答案
1. the line perpendicular to y=3 is x=-2
since the only thing perpendicular to y is x
and x-coordinate of the point is -2

2. (y-a^1/2)/(x-a) = 1/2a^−1/2
(y-a^1/2) = (1/2a^−1/2)(x-a)
(y-a^1/2) = 1/2 (x-a) a^(−1/2)
(y-a^1/2) = 1/2a^(−1/2) x-1/2a^(1/2)
y= 1/2a^(−1/2) x+1/2a^(1/2)

3. curve y=√(ax) passes through the point (p, q)
so √(ap) = q

3√(ap)−2 = 3q-2
so curve y=3√(ax)−2 passes through the point (p, 3q-2 )
