肺炎會否傳染

Pneumonia is not contagious but the bacteria or viruses that cause the condition may be. Those microorganisms usually do not do much harm to a healthy individual. However, it can be a problem to those whom are either every young or very old; people with suppressed immunity or on certain medications. Most people with bacteria-caused pneumonia do not need to be isolated.

Hand hygiene is the key to to prevent the spread of many common microorganism.

肺 炎 是 指 肺 部 發 炎 ， 通 常 由 微 生 物 引 起 ， 包 括 細 菌 (bacteria) 、 病 毒 (virus) 、 真 菌 (fungus) 等 。
一 般 分 為 醫 院 感 染 的 肺 炎 (hospital-acquired pneumonia) 及 社 區 感 染 的 肺 炎 (community-acquired pneumonia) ， 而 以 社 區 感 染 的 較 為 常 見 。
肺 炎 是 常 見 病 ， 其 中 細 菌 性 和 病 毒 性 佔 多 數 。 近 年 來 由 於 廣 泛 使 用 抗 生 素 ， 甚 至 出 現 濫 用 的 情 況 ， 導 致 引 起 肺 炎 的 微 生 物 抗 藥 性 增 強 ， 肺 炎 亦 因 而 難 於 醫 治 。 另 一 方 面 ， 免 疫 力 較 低 或 因 藥 物 治 療 而 免 疫 力 受 抑 制 的 病 人 數 目 日 益 增 多 ， 導 致 那 些 一 般 不 會 在 普 通 病 人 身 上 引 起 肺 炎 的 微 生 物 能 在 這 些 病 人 身 上 引 起 。
