a) Family of straight lines:59x - 76y + 46 + k ( 44x - 27y + 57 ) = 0 where k is real
Sub ( 0 , 1 ),
59(0)-76(1)+46+k[(44)(0)-27(1)+57]=0
-30+30k=0
k = 1
L: 59x - 76y + 46 + 44x - 27y + 57 = 0
x - y + 1 = 0
b) d = l ( Ax1 + By1 + C ) / sqr ( A2 + B2 ) l
= l [(1)(0)+(-1)(0)+1] / sqr ( 12+(-1)2)l
= sqr 2 / 2
