Finding area and circumference of a circle?

The circumference of a circle is the distance around the outside of the circle. It could be called the perimeter of the circle.
How to find the circumference of a circle:

The circumference of a circle can be found by multiplying pi ¶ (which is equal to 3.14) by the diameter of the circle.
If a circle has a diameter of 4, its circumference is 3.14*4=12.56
If you know the radius, the diameter is twice as large.

Area = pi x radius^2
Circumference = 2pi x radius or pi x diameter

area= pi * radius squared so, you should have a pi button on your calculator take pi times your radius squared. your radius is 4, half of 8 and 4 squared or 4*4=16. your answer is 16*pi. circumference= 2*radius*pi your radius is 4, half of 8. 2*4=8. finish out the formuala 8*pi is your answer.

(circumference = 2 * pi * radius)

Area- (3.14)(Radius)(Radius)
Cir- 3.14(diameter) OR 3.14(2)(Radius

3.14- Pi which also can be 3.142 and 22/7

area of a circle=#*r*r,where # is pie=3.14 and r is the radius of the circle.
circumference of a circle = 2*#*r,where # is pie = 3.14 and r is the radius of the circle.

to figure out the area: pi r squared
and circumferance: 2 pi r


r = radius

Area of a circle(A) is given by:

A = pi*r^2 where r is the radius of the circle and pi ~ 3.142

Circumference (C) of a circle is:

C = 2*pi*r or pi*d where d is the diameter of the circle (=2*r)

Note 3.142 is an ~ value for the constant pi. Use whatever fig. you have been given or the pi button on your calculator.

Area PIE R SQUARED and Circumference is 2 PIE R
