ENGLISH(6個字的different)
我想問以下6個未有咩分別...
1. extremely
2. really
3. very
4. rather
5. quite
6. fairly
到底呢6個字有咩分別??
佢地既用法又係點??
分別在哪??
回答 (3)
extremely (強) , really, very, fairly (一般) 都係作表達同形容之用, 通常係用黎強調你所講既事情
rather 係用作比較 2 件事情, 好似 2選1 , 通常後面會加 than. 好似 I would rather have dinner at home than eat-out.
quite 意思就大概等於廣東話既- 幾. 好似 幾好= quite good
希望幫到你啦~
First, the above 6 words belong to Adverbs of Degree (= how much).
The above adverbs can be divided into 3 groups in terms of degree:
Group 1 - a bit, slightly
Group 2 - quite, fairly, rather
Group 3 - very, extremely, really
A BIT is less than QUITE.
QUITE is less than VERY.
A BIT, REALLY are informal and common in spoken English.
RATHER is like QUITE and FAIRLY, but we often use it when something is a surprise for positive ideas, and it can also be used to express negative ideas.
FAIRLY is weaker than QUITE, RATHER.
QUITE also means completely and can be used with a number of adjectives, such as sure, right, true etc.
EXTREMELY is stronger than VERY.
