Why do Taiwan apply UN membership with its own name?

Why do they use "Taiwan"
instead of its original name the Republic of China?
It is UN will never accept their applicant because Taiwan is not considered as a "souverign country". Then why do the Taiwanese continue to apply for application?
更新1:

The island "Taiwan" itself is not considered to be a country.

The UN already recognizes The People's Republic of China (aka mainland China) as "China" regardless of what it calls itself, until Taiwan is recognized as a sovereign country, it will continue to be denied.

Because Taiwan wants them to recognize their right to be a soverign nation. They have much higher standards of living compared to the PRC and they have democracy and the freedom of speech and press.

Many countries began by breaking off from their parent, like the United States from England.
