Is it possible to install air conditioner in fiat grande punto?

If there is a model with the same engine that has a/c then the parts could be obtained and fitted. It would be cheaper and much easier to trade it in and buy one with original fitted a/c.
When the dealer says it can't be done he probably means it's so much bother that he won't
