would you like 同could you 點解

would you like : 你想唔想
could you : 你能唔能夠

兩個都是有禮的.

would you like通常是問人想要D乜.

eg. What would you like to eat?
你想食D乜?

eg. When would you like to come?
你想幾點來?

eg. Would you like to watch a movie with me?
你想唔想同我去睇戲?

中文看來不是很有禮, 但其實would you 等於請問你想唔想.


Could you通常係有禮地叫人幫你做野.
eg. Could you open the window for me please?
你可以幫我開隻窗嗎?

通常想好有禮貌叫人幫你 (比could you 更有禮) 係用Would you mind.

eg. Would you mind opening the window for me please?

would you like VS could you
前者比較有禮貌去請求人幫你
後者語氣相較之下欠缺禮貌
would you like 可解作 如果你可以就xxxx
could you 可解作 你能幫我嗎?
