well, just like it says on the score, do 71 divided by 80
that should get you 0.8875
then move the decimal point two places to the right and get 88.75%

When someone eats a whole container of ice cream, that is 100%.
When someone gets all the answers right on a quiz, that is 100% also. It doesn't matter how many questions that were given, the matter is how many of the given were answered correctly.

The question becomes: How close were you to finish the ice cream or being completely right (100%)?

So, you were given 80. If you had them all right, then

80 right / 80 given * 100% = 100% Hooray!

Alas, you only had 71 right, then

71 right / 80 given * 100% = 88.75% Still, pretty good!

If you still had a quarter of the ice cream left, then what percent of the original did you consumed?

Your score as a percentage is 89%.

To work this out,you divide the mark that you got (71) by the total that the quiz was out of (80) and then multiply it by 100.

In this case the actual answer is 88.75 but I rounded this up to give a whole number.

Just a quick note on %... you should realize that this is a unit conversion with 1 = 100%, so you can freely multiply or divide by 100% to put in or remove a % unit, as needed.

For you, you have 72/80 * 100% = 90%, which makes sense, because 10% of 80 is just 8, and 72 = 80 - 8, or 10% less than 100%...for 90%.

This also works if you had gotten some extra credit points; let's say you got 72/80 and then 10 more extra credit point, for a total of 82/80; then

82/80 * 100% = 102.5%...which makes sense, because it is greater than 80, so greater than 100%.

you can find your percentage by this formula

(marks obtain/totel marks marks)*100
you obtain 71 and totel marks are 80

so by this formula became (71/80)*100=
(71/80)=0.8875
now multiply this answer with 100 that is =88.75%
