Car insurance question?

I have 2 cars, I drive one of them, and the other one is for my brother, but since my brother just turn 18, so the insurance on his side is very expensive, so if I exclude him on my insurance plan, what will be different?

I am not sure about your state, but in my state (Indiana) if someone is not on your policy, and they are under 25, they are not covered on your insurance, because they are considered a high risk. Even if you yourself are under 25, anyone else who is not on the policy with you, are not insured and not covered. I know we have state farm, and when you turn 23 when you are female, your rates drop, and it's 25 for a male...right now my husband and I are both 24, and we have 2 vehicles, and we each have to be on one of them, although we can both drive both, but his costs a fortune more....but we have to suck it up because if I dropped him legally he would not be legal!

If you exclude him, he can't drive ANY of your cars, and if he does, there's no coverage. No coverage for him, no coverage for your car, no coverage for the guy your car hits - which leaves YOU writing the checks for all the damages.

You'll probably save about 1/3.

If he's an excluded driver, he can't drive any of your cars.

It will be more money. Beacuse he doesn't have much driving experience. Thats about all that will change.

He won't be able to drive the car that he isn't insured for. If he does, and the car is damaged, you won't be insured.
