Canon DSRL EOS 450

For using DSLR, you do not need to be an expert. 450D is for beginner, like you. You can consider 400D also as it only costs $3900, first hand. No one knows when will 450D avaliable. You can try to use the kit lens first(I suggest using EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS first), x1.6=28mm ,then you can buy an ultra-wide lens for landscape.(EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM)
Of course you can buy EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 first, if budget is not a problem. I also want to remind you it maybe a bit difficult for a beginner to use this lens, but practise makes perfect.

OK, thanks for your suggestions. I guess I will keep an eye on this model, so you think the price should come down towards 6K something! I like to take scenic photos, is this camera suitable for scenic shots. The menu only has English is fine with me.

I have a Minolta tripod which I used with normal SLR, can I use that with DSLR?

I guess I will buy Canon DSLR 450, the price is around HK$6880 for the kit set, I heard!
Since I am a beginner, I think I will join 1 of the Canon's DSLR course, so that I can learn how to use majority of the camera.
