Gross :
Specimen consists of a piece of punch-biopsy of skin.
Bissected and submitted entirely in one block.

Histology:
Section shows a polymorphous inflammatory infiltrate and
extravasated red blood cells in the dermis. The infiltrate consists
of numerous neutrophils. Some mononuclear inflammatory cells
admixed with the neutrophils. Eosinophils are few in number.
Scattered neutrophils invade into the epidermis. There is also
infiltration of some inflammatory cells in the subcutis.
No bullous formation is observed.

Interpretation:
Skin biopsy: Although not diagnostic, the histological changes
are suggestive of pyoderma gangrenosum.
