5.Purchased Material. Is there a supplier quality assurance program to select superior suppliers and do these suppliers form the base for future procurement? Describe the receiving inspection function to include disposition of deviant material and supplier notification of problems, and record retention. Are sampling plans based on a zero defect concept?
6.Statistical Methods. Have appropriate employees been trained in basic statistical methods? Are these methods used for real time control of critical processes? Is appropriate gauging available and have gage repeatability and reproducibility studies been performed? Are capability studies conducted on new parts and processes? Indicate your capability index (CPK) objective. Also indicate what advanced statistical methods have been used.
10.Continuous Improvement/Customer Satisfaction. Is there a proactive approach to assure an understanding of customer problems? Is there technical support available in development and quality engineering to aid in problem solving and quality improvement? Are periodic quality improvement meetings held to focus on problem areas? Are employees recognized for quality improvement suggestions? Are quality costs understood and used to drive improvements?
