according to math operation hierarchy u do whats in the parenthese 1st, then multiplication then addition then subtraction.

so 1/2 + 1/2 - 2/3 =

^^^ 2/3 / 3/4 doesn't equal 1/2 it equals 8/9.

1/2 + 8/9 - 2/3 =

9/18 + 16/18 - 12/18 = 13/18

then, change the fractions so that their denominators are the same:
1/2=6/12
17/12=17/12

then:
6/12+17/12-8/12
23/12=8/12
15/12

simplify:
15/12=1 3/12 or 1 1/4
