use the distributivity (a(b+c) = ab+ac):

12(2x+3)-3(8+7x)>0 =
12*2X+12*3 - 3*8+3*7X>0 = othe sides by 3
24X+36 - (24+21X)>0 =
24X+36-24-21X>0 =
3X+12>0 =

now subtract bth sides with 12

3X+1-12>0-12 =
3X>-12

divide both sides by 3

3X/3>-12/3 =
X>-4

ok??

now check:

pick any number bigger than -4 for X
for example -2:

12(2*-2+3)-3(8+7*-2)>0 =
12*-1-3*-6>0 =
-12-(-18)>0
-12+18>0
6>0
correct!!!

24x + 36 - 24 - 21x > 0
3x > - 12
x > - 4

12(2x + 3) - 3(8 + 7x) > 0
12*2x + 12*3 - 3*8 - 3*7x > 0
24x + 36 - 24 - 21x > 0
24x - 21x > -36 + 24
3x > -12
x > -12/3
x > -4

use algebra...
12(2x+3)>-3(8+7x)
and so on...**remember that when you divide or multiply by a negative number the direction of the inequality changes ** but other than that treat it as a regular equation. hope that helps
