說到香港小食,你會想起甚麼款式的特色小食?街頭小食如:魚蛋、砵仔糕,雞蛋仔或薄餅?香港是「美食之都」,當然,有新派的小食,也有令人回味的傳統小食。
說起傳統,你會想到甚麼?我會想起那些清脆的「叮叮」聲響,那是由「叮叮糖」的工具所發出的。要說傳統,叮叮糖最少也有一百年的歷史了,叮叮糖由廣東省傳入,到了六十年代,才被人發揚光大。而「傳統」的叮叮糖,是用一個書桌般大的鐵箱,放一個個像大波板糖形狀的叮叮糖,用類似鐵鎚的工具敲碎,變成一粒粒不同形狀的糖塊。而傳統的口味是薑味,而新款的叮叮糖,那些朱古力味、芒果味等等,不但味道不同,連口感也不同。可能是製作材料上有所不同吧!
提及「叮叮糖」,你會聯想到甚麼?不知道你有否嘗過麥芽糖。「叮叮糖」和「麥芽糖」可算是兄弟。大部份售賣叮叮糖的地方,也可以找到麥芽糖。麥芽糖是由小麥製成,營養十分豐富。而麥芽糖夾餅也是一種常見的小食,在戲棚附近,也會有很多小攤販售賣。
傳統小食的味道也不差,但隨人們口味的轉變,這些小食也續漸被其他新派小食取代,或是失傳。
