Census and Statistics Department
The C&SD was set up on 4 December 1967. This year, 2007, marks the 40th Anniversary of the department.
Over the years, the department has been making continuous improvement in delivering high-quality statistical services, contributing to the development of Hong Kong. The department also ensures that the processes of compilation and dissemination of statistics are in accordance with scientific principles, professional ethics and international standards. Building on our firm foundation, the slogan for the 40th Anniversary Commemoration is "Quality Statistics Key to the Future".
We have recently introduced some new services in the C&SD website, including the integration of the free download feature, table customization service and personalization service. By becoming a registered user of the C&SD Website, you can now enjoy additional value-added services on top of the e-mail notification service. More information on these services is available at the Service Desk. We hope these new services can provide greater convenience to our users in keeping abreast of the latest economic and social statistics, round the clock from anywhere in the world.
In the coming years, we will continue to dedicate our utmost effort to strengthening our various work systems with a view to providing ever improving statistical services. Your suggestions on how our services can be improved will be most welcome.
