「義勇軍進行曲」曾於1940年左右，由劉良模翻譯爲英文，英文歌詞經原作者田漢同意，略有改動，由當時美國黑人歌王保羅‧伯遜(PAUL ROBESON)演唱，PAUL ROBESON 的唱片銷路極好，因爲它鼓勵人民爲打倒暴政，爭取真正民主自由而歌唱。歌詞如下：
