If I operate a shop, and my wife helps run the shop without pay, is her productivity/ contribution counted in calculating GDP?

Your wife's contribution in your shop will not be counted in the GDP calculation as she did not get any pay. This case is similar to the housewives who are working on all the families' stuffs such as washing, cooking..... without payments. However, if your wife get wages, her productivity can be counted in GDP calculation for example by expenditure approach.
