美式英語與英式英語小問

1. 發音的分別

字母 a ﹕
英語﹕字母a 發à 音﹐例如﹕can’t /kànt/﹐pass /pàs/
美語﹕字母a 發æ 音﹐例如﹕can’t /kænt/﹐pass /pæs/

字母 t ﹕
英語﹕字母t 發很清脆的 t 音
美語﹕字母t發較弱的音﹐聽起來更像l的發音

字母 o ﹕
英語﹕字母o 發“喔”音
美語﹕字母o 發à 音
例如﹕lot, god

你去搵本字典或發音的字典去學啦。好難打晒它出來啊。

2. 拼寫的分別

1). 比較有規律的分別
英 ~ 美
-viour ~ -vior (e.g. behaviour ~ behavior)
-our ~ -or (e.g. colour ~ color; labour ~ labor)
-sation ~ -zation (e.g. customization ~ customization; organization ~ organization)
-tre ~ -ter (e.g. centre ~ center)
-gue ~ -g (e.g. dialogue ~ dialog)

2). 其他完全不同的用詞
英 ~ 美
cooker ~ stove爐頭
trousers ~ pants褲
bill ~ check埋單果張單
dialing code ~ area code電話#的開頭幾個數字作為的地區號

另外﹐樓上說pedestrian (BrE) = sidewalk (AmE) 。你記錯啦。Pedestrian指行人。Sidewalk指行人道。吾同嘎。

3. gonna, gotta, outta, etc.

Gonna = going to ﹐例如 I’m gonna take an exam tomorrow.
Gotta = got to = have to (吾系 go to啊﹐樓上果位搞錯啦) ﹐例如 I gotta be there by 7 AM.
Outta = out of
Wanna = want to ﹐例如 I wanna take a break.

呢D都系美語常用的口語。

1. 在發音上常見之分別在於a這個vowel﹐英語中[a:]在美語中常會唸成[] ﹐就好像pass, retaliate。 [ (如果你不知上述之符號代表甚麼﹐那即是你不懂phonics﹐那就叫老文老師教教你)
2. 至於同義不同字在英式及美式英語中可多不勝數了﹐就例如 pedestrian = sidewalk (前是英﹐後是美)﹐ lift = elevator﹐ football = soccer等等﹐你要在日常生活中多一些接觸English media才可以學得到
3. gonna = going to; gotta = go to, outta = out of
這些都是美式口語化的字﹐英國人不會用的﹐而且這些都不是formal word﹐認識了便算﹐我強烈建議你不要用

coulda - could have
shoulda - should have
woulda - would have
couldna - could not have
mighta - might have
musta - must have

好像cheque,意思是支票,This is Britain English.但是check,意思is支票。Sorry,I cannot answer your other question! Because I DO NOT KNOW .
