v = l*w*h
v / (l*w) = (l*w*h) / (l*w)
v /(l*w) = h
h = v / (l*w)

When you divide the circumference of a circle by its diameter you always get the same number. This number is called pi and it is 22 / 7 or 3.14.

A = pi*r^2 is the formula that is used to find the area of a circle given its dimeter/radius.

When they solve for a varuable, they mean to isolate, or get it alone on one side of the equal sign"

V = lwh
Divide both sides by lw:

v/lw = h

THe second is just the formula for the area of a circle

Area = pi * radius * radius
2008-04-24 4:25 pm
V = lwh
h = V/(lw)

A = 3.1415926Rsquared
is more commonly written as:
A = πr²
which is the forumla used to find the area of a circle given its radius.

If you have V=lwh, you need to get h on its own. If you divide both sides by lw, you're left with V/(lw)=h.

A=pi*r^2 is the formula for the area of a circle. I don't know how it's derived off the top of my head, but a good trigonometry textbook or another answerer (or maybe even Wikipedia) will be able to tell you.

the question seems to be incomplete.

to get h from: v = lwh

divide lw from both sides

to get: (v / lw) = h

A = (pi)^2 is just a statement, not a question
2008-04-24 4:24 pm
v = lwh
lwh = v
h = v/lw
2008-04-24 4:23 pm
h = V / lw

For the other question, I simply have to say it's not even a question.

It says area of a circle is π (except here they approximated it) times radius squared.
