To get the perimeter of a circle, called the circumference of the circle, one simply has to multiply 2 times pi (about 3.14) times the radius of the particular circle.

C = π d
C = 2 π r
π = 22 / 7 or 3.14
Example
Calculate the circumference of a circle of radius 84 cm.
C = 2 π r
C = 2 x 22 / 7 x 84 cm
C = 2 x 22 x 12 cm
C = 528 cm

the distance from the centre of a circle to the edge is called the 'radius',
the distance from the edge through the centre to the opposite edge is called the 'diameter' (which is twice the radius)

well the distance all the way round is called the 'circumference' (or perimeter) and it's:
3.14ish ('PI' or π ) multiplied by the diameter.

pi's about the same as 22/7
so the circumference is...
the diameter x 22 then divide that answer by 7

perimeter of circle is nothing but circumference of a circle
Circumference = 2 π r = π d
where π is constant = 22/7 or 3.14,
r is radius of circle
d = diameter of circle = 2 r

regarding fractions give some examples, that can be explained.

Perimeter is the distance around the polygon
Circumference is the distance around the circle.
hence,
Your question should be:
How to get the circumference of a circle
C = 2 π r
where;
C = circumference
π = pi which is approximately equal to 3.1416
and
r = raduis

The perimeter of a circle (actually it's called circumference) is calculated by the following formula:

C = (pi) * d

Where d is the diameter, and pi is a neverending set of decimals that approximates to 3.14.

The formula for tha perimeter of the circle is 2*pi*r
where
pi=(22/7)
r=radius of that circle

The permiter of a circle is pi * the circle's diameter. Well, you only have 1/2 of a circle, so the formula for the permiter would be 1/2 * (pi) * d PLUS D The first half of the equasion would be for the curvy part, the arc, the second part would be for the straight diameter. So you have 1/2*(pi)*10 + 10 that's about 25.71 (NINI's wrong because she found the permiter of just the arc part of the circle, NOT the straight part which would also be counted... and she's a math major?)

If you want the perimeter you must know what is pi.
Pi is 3.14 or 22/7
Ex:if the radius is 3.5
Multiply it by 2
So it is now 7
Multiple it with pi
22/7 x 7=22
And circumference is the perimeter of a circle
