I took up running to lose weight but now I'm actually getting bidder in pants size?

before running I was a 9 now im almost a 13 in jean size. my thighs have gotten really big WHY?

I RUN 1.5 MILES 4 TIMES A WEEK AND I DO WEIGHT TRAINING AS WELL LIKE arm curls back training and situps

i have a healthy diet except Friday or Saturday when i eat out but the rest of the week I'm eating all veggies and fruits no pop or juice

My guess is your diet contains more carbs/sugar than you can burn, and that is sabotaging your efforts. Cut down (really cut down) on your carb/sugar intake if you want the exercise to have any effect. I have 2 friends who were in a similar position, running 5km at least 3 times a week but could never lose weight (and even put on some) till they cut down on their carbs/sugar. After that, their exercise really paid off!

The explanation is that your body will only burn fat when there is glucagon (the "fat-release" hormone) present. Glucagon is released only when insulin levels are low, which can't happen if there's always glucose in the blood which is the case for many of us who eat way too much carbs/sugar - bread, pasta, rice, soda, chips, etc.

Your muscles grow. When you run, your muscles are working. Much like when your a weight lifter, you use your arms all the time which, as a result makes your arms bigger. Don't worry, if ever your doing this "dietary routine" properly you should get fitter as time comes. But watch what your eating as well, not saying that you don't eat at all. But watch out for not so good canned goods and McDonald's salads for these can definitely make you fatter (they only say it's healthy for profits) and don't eat much junk foods and remember to eat like a king in breakfast, like a prince in lunch, and a pauper in supper. Which means eat less as the day progresses, literally.

You are going to bulk up with muscle and then you will slowly start to see yourself lose the fat and get more toned. If you truly are eating a healthy diet that is.

If you are a young teen in the process of growing up, you will continue to gain weight and height until about 18 years of age. This is normal. Thigh size has a lot to do with genetics. Running will improve your aerobic capacity, but it actually will burn relatively few calories. Resistance training combined with running will go a long way in helping you lose weight.

Please list your running regimen so that we can get a better idea. There is no way you are running long distances and getting bigger. Now if you are running 1 mile a week and eating unhealthier than that is a different story.

Probably adding muscle but the other part is what are you eating??? If you just work out and dont eat right you wont get the benefits youre seeking.

You are most likely building muscle

it is better to walk to lose weight.
doing high intensity cardio will help you burn carbs that you are eating but to burn off the fat you need to do low intensity cardio.

if you want to lose the weight fast you need to walk for about 1.5 to 3 hours straight.

also walk quit fast 3 to 4 miles/ hr.

our bodies burn Cal's at a certain rate /min
but the longer we do something without a brake the more Cal's/min we burn.

about every 20 Min's you walk you increase the amount of Cal's/min you burn off.

also you will build up endurance and increase the efficient of your heart and lungs
