4(p-1)= 2(p-15)
4p-4=2p-30
2p-4=-30
2p= -26
p= -13

4(p-1)=2(p-15)
4p-4=2p-30
2p-4=-30
2p=-26
p=-13 (i think..)

p=-13

4p - 4 = 2p - 30
2p = - 26
p = - 13

4(p-1)= 2(p-15)
therefore 4p-4=2p-30
therefore 2p=-26
therefore p=-13

On the account of the level of this question and your not being able to complete it, im assuming your at a stage in your maths that regularly forgets that -1*1=-1 and -1*-1=1
that is the most important rule here besides expanding brackets etc. Dont forget this and at your level, always check you've correctly assigned the -'ves and +'ves as the final thing you do after finding the answer.

4(p - 1) = 2(p - 15)
4*p - 4*1 = 2*p - 2*15
4p - 4 = 2p - 30
4p - 2p = 4 - 30
2p = -26
p = -26/2
p = -13
2008-04-22 6:24 pm
4p-4=2p-30
or 4p-2p=4-30
or 2p= -26
or p= -13 (Ans)
