✔ 最佳答案
y = 3x - 1

2x - y = -2
2x - (3x - 1) = -2
2x - 3x + 1 = -2
-x = -2 - 1
-x = -3
x = -3/-1
x = 3

y = 3x - 1
y = 3(3) - 1
y = 9 - 1
y = 8

∴ x = 3 , y = 8

you have to substitute one equation into the other. so
(1) y=3x-1
(2) 2x - y = -2
Substitute (1) into (2)
2x - (3x - 1) =2
2x - 3x + 1 = 2
-x + 1 = -2
-x = -3
so x=3
substitute x = 3 into the first equation
y = 3(3) - 1
y = 9-1
y=8
so x=3, y=8

Its all about solving by substitution

The first equation tells you that y= 3x-1

Ok...so take that information...and now go to the second equation and SUBSTITUTE 3x-1 wherever you see a Y

2x-y=-2

2x- (3x-1) =-2

2x-3x+1 =-2

-x+1=-2

Now to get a positive X, I am going to simultaneosly move the x to the right side and move the -2 to the left side

here is the full process.. first I'll move the x to the right

-x+1+x= -2+x

1= -2+x

Now, I'll move the -2 to the left

1+2 = -2+x+2
3=x

So if I know that x=3

I will simply substitute that for X in the first equation

y=3(3) -1

y=9-1

y=8

So I know that x=3, and y=8

you have to use substitution. since you know what y is in the first equation, you can fill it in for y for the second equation. So you will have:
2x-(3x-1)= -2
Then solve from there to find out x. Then once you have x, fill it in either equation to find y. Check it, because sometimes they give you ones that don't work.

2x - (3x-1) = -2 Substitute for y in 2nd equation.
-x+1 = -2 Distribute -1 and combine 2x - 3x
-x = -3 Subtract 1 from both sides
x = 3 Divide by -1 on both sides

y = 3(3) -1 Plug x = 3 into 1st equation
y = 9 - 1 = 8 Calculate y.

There are several ways to solve these equations. I will show you how to do it using the substitution method.

From the first equation, you know that y = 3x - 1

You can use this fact to help you out with the second knowledge. Specifically, you can substitute 3x - 1 wherever you see "y" in the second equation. As such,

2x - y = -2
2x - (3x -1) = -2
2x - 3x + 1 = -2
-x = -3
x =3

Now, you can use the value of x to determine your value of y from the first equation:

y = 3x - 1 = 3(3) - 1 = 8

Therefore, x = 3 and y = 8.

It is important to check the accuracy of your answers by substituting the values in both equations, as follows:

Check:

y = 3x - 1

Left side = y = 8
Right side = 3x - 1 = 3(3) = 1 = 8

Therefore, left side equals the right side.

2x - y = -2
Left side = 2x - y = 2(3) - 8 = -2
Right side = -2

Therefore, left side equals the right side.

The checks confirm that the answers are correct.

Hope this helped.

do you want to put it in y intercept? if you do the answer is

y=2+2x

I think they just invented this thing called a calculator.
jk. its just a joke. i really dont know i suck at calculus. or math or whatever its called

2x - (3x - 1) = - 2
- x + 1 = - 2
3 = x

y = 9 - 1
y = 8

x = 3 , y = 8
