Since Beijing won the right to host the 29th Olympic Games at the 112th full meeting of International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Moscow on Jul 13th, 2001, Beijing has been endeavoring to make full preparations for this event, from the construction of the Olympic venues to the design of the Olympic mascot. Beijing Olympic Schedule and Venues
To be held between the 8th and 24th August, 2008 there will be 28 major and 302 minor competitive events in which athletes from all over the world in 37 venues will participate.
