What kind of cable do you need to connect a labtop to a tv?

You need either a S-Video to RCA if your TV does not have a S-Video input, otherwise you need a S-Video to S-Video cable.

Please be awared that the audio (i.e. the sound) will still be out from the laptop. If you want your TV or HiFi to play the audio as well, you will normally need a corresponding 3mm M-M audio cable. However the size could be different due to different component design, you are advised to double check the size of the audio socket before getting the cable.
