Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to make microsoft Word 2003 create the temporary doc files in a different folder other than the current document folder.

The location where Word creates the temporary files is hardcoded information and cannot be edited.

Check to see if your file is in the "Open Recent" directory in your "File Menu." If not there, perhaps you can locate the original source on the internet and download it again. One more thing you can try is to find ANY other Word document on the internet and then, do a "Save As." When the "Save As" window opens up, make note of where it wants to put that file. That should be where your first file went.
