其實第1個回答已經答到你,不過佢冇講到↓

首先, there 後面用is定用are 係取決於第1樣野,
即係 some water 同 a boy

另外, water同bread都係數唔到, 點計都冇可能係are

所以,
1) There is some water and some bread.
3)There is a boy, a girl and a man.
係岩

因為some water加上some bread是兩樣東西；又a boy, a girl and a man是三個人，所以正式的英文應該用there are
但隨便一點的英文，也可以用there is，因第一件東西出現是單數

「 不 少 學 生 都 有 工 作 」 英 文 是 Many students have a job 還 是 Many students have jobs ？
論 文 法 ， 兩 句 都 正 確 ； 不 過 ， 用 複 數 形 式 的 jobs 似 乎 比 較 自 然 。 假 如 「 大 家 各 有 一 件 」 的 東 西 是 用 在 their 、 our 等 所 有 格 詞 語 之 後 ， 更 是 多 用 複 數 形 式 名 詞 來 說 ： 例 如 ： Do you know the two boys' names ？ （ 你 知 道 那 兩 個 男 孩 的 名 字 嗎 ？ ）
聽 說 There is a table and a chair （ 有 一 張 桌 子 、 一 張 椅 子 ） 這 一 句 ， 由 於 a table 是 單 數 名 詞 ， 所 以 there 之 後 必 須 用 is ， 不 得 用 are ， 對 嗎 ？
這 話 不 對 。 A table 和 a chair 加 起 來 就 是 複 數 ， 所 以 應 說 There are 。 隨 便 一 點 ， 說 There is 也 可 以 ， 因 為 其 後 第 一 個 名 詞 是 單 數 形 式 的 a table ， 但 這 不 是 最 正 規 的 英 文 。

1) 1 and 3 are correct.

2) If the noun phrase after [there be] consists of two or more nouns in a list, we use a singular verb if the first noun is singular or uncountable, and a plural verb if the first noun is plural.
e.g. When I opened the fridge there was only a bottle of milk, some eggs, and butter.
e.g. When I opened the fridge there were only some eggs, a bottle of milk and butter.

3) 換言之, 凡[there be]之後列舉兩個或以上的項目, 第一個出現的項目(名詞) 是決定用is或are關鍵因素。
如果第一個名詞是單數或者不可數名詞, 就用is; 如果是複數的話, 就用are。

4) 在1和2句子中, water 是第一個項目, 而又是不可數(uncountable), 所以要用is - 如句1。
在3和4句子中, a boy是第一個項目, 而又是單數(singular), 所以要用is - 如句3。

No. 1 is correct because water and bread are both uncountable nouns

No. 4 is correct. Compare: There are three people (a boy, a girl and a man).
