It's been 25 years since Sean Connery played James Bond but Connery wants to appear in the franchise again -- only this time as a villain.
The 77-year-old tells UK's 'Daily Mail' that preliminary discussions have already taken place for him to star opposite Daniel Craig, but it would take an exceptional paycheck to lure him out of retirement.
Connery, who first played Bond in 1962's Dr No and ended his seventh movie run in character with Never Say Never Again in 1983, tells the paper "I wouldn't mind coming back as a Bond villain. But I don't think they would pay me enough money."
"They don't pay the money for the other parts, only for the Bond character, although that wasn't the case when I was doing it," referring to his pay for the first movie where he earned just 50,000 pounds. But by his last movie in 1983, he was earning 3 million pounds.
"I think Daniel Craig is a terrific choice," Connery said of possibly starring opposite the blonde Bond. "I think they're going back to a more realistic type of Bond movie as I don't think they could have gone much further with the special effects."
