a lot of jazz-sounding kind of poetry. i read once that he once tried to sing jazz quietly and a guy walke up to him and asked if he was ok. hughes said he was fine, and the guy got embarrassed because he thought hughes was choking or soemthing XD
so really, his poetry sounds jazzy, since he couldn't sing it, he writes it down.

Langston Hughes was one of the earlier proponents of the idea that "black is beautiful." His poetry often celebrates the virtues of African-American culture. Much of his work therefore, is filled with pride and anguish, musicality and humor. His poetry is not merely polemic, in support of a cause. He is one of the finest poets this country has ever produced. He wrote over three generations ago, but his works are still very much contemporary to us today. The idea of taking pride in the Black experience, whether it be the pain of slavery or the glory of African-American artists, was an inspiration to the civil rights movement two generations later.

All I now is that he writes about his neighborhood,and what happens around where he lives......I think

Its funny,That today we read a story by him called Thank You M'am
N just because of him,I have to write a stupid poem about my neighborhood.
