could anyone tell me what the two ends of a reducer/reducing bushing are respectively called?

chuck/collett
bushing/flange

A threaded reducing bushing is typically identified by the NPT (national pipe thread) size of both the larger male end and the reduced female end. example (3/4 x 1/2" NPT ). I have never heard of any special term for the respective ends, probably because its just not needed.
