Lifting weights twice a day will not get you better results unless you work on different muscle groups during your two work out periods. Make sure you get plenty of rest in between workouts so that your muscles have a chance to recover. I too work out early in the morning before I go to work. I do weights and cardio. It helps me wake up and stay mentally alert for the rest of the day. For me, once a day every other day is plenty.
