Is it bad to lift wieghts in the morning?

I am going to start running in the morning( about 5:30) and i was wondering if when i get back should i lift some wieghts? BEcause i also lift wieghts in the after noon so if i startlifting twice a day i will get beter results?

Lifting weights twice a day will not get you better results unless you work on different muscle groups during your two work out periods. Make sure you get plenty of rest in between workouts so that your muscles have a chance to recover. I too work out early in the morning before I go to work. I do weights and cardio. It helps me wake up and stay mentally alert for the rest of the day. For me, once a day every other day is plenty.

Lifts weights before you run if you are going to do your running and lifting one after the other. The fact is that the running will exhaust your body's oxygen supply and it will be tired from running. This will take away from your lifting explosiveness and also your endurance. By doing it the other way, you can get maximum power to lift and still be able to run. You may think that by doing it the other way that your running will be hindered, but actually you will burn more calories and keep your heart rate up, so the effects will be better.

The best way to do it, though, if you are exercising to get bigger is to lift weights in the morning, then run in the evening. This way you are putting a great deal of strain on your body and by exercising in the morning and evening, you can keep your hormone levels higher throughout the day.

Do not lift twice a day unless you are juiced. Your body actually grows when it is not working and is simply repairing itself. If you continuously break your muscles down they will never be able to heal themselves.

well first of all i agree with the first answer - weight lifting after running is not a good idea

weight lifting twice a day ... well you'd have to do different muscle groups
and it depends how often you do this every week

if you lift weights 4 times a week, don't do it twice in a day, thats ridiculous, you'll get so tired - and you won't be able to lift enough because your body won't have recovered enough since the last workout

if you lift weights like once-twice a week ... lol
well first of all you should do more ...
but if thats all the time you have then yeah go twice on that one day in the week, or two
