10^6 = 1,000,000 (one million)
10^-6 = 0.000001 (one one-millionth)

The difference is pretty big, specifically, a factor of 10^12. Generally, x^(-n) = 1 / x^n. So, in this example, 10^-6 = 1 / 10^6 = 1 / 1,000,000 = 0.000001.

10^6 = 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000,000
10^(- 6) = 1 / (10^6) = 1 / 1,000,000

1)
10^6
= 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10
= 1000000

2)
10^-6
= 1/10^6
= 1/1000000

10^6 = 1,000,000
10^-6 = 0.000001

if a^1 = 1
then a^-1 = 1/a

so, if 10^6 = 1 000 000

then, 10^-6= 1/1 000 000
= 0.000 001
