To find the vertical asymptotes, find the limits of f(x) as x approaches the point(s) where f(x) is undefined, i.e. the vertical asymptotes are where the denominator vanishes.

To find the horizontal asymptotes, find the limits of f(x) as x approaches positive infinity, and negative infinity.
