Percent means out of 100. To convert from a percentage to a decimal you divide by 100. 0.75 divided by 100 is 0.0075.

Hope this helps.

.0075 You just move the decimal two places to the left

.0075
because the percent sign means it's divided by 100 (percent literally means per-by cent-100) so move the decimal 2 places to the left whenever you see percent

0.0075. Move the decimal to the left two places. .75% is the same as .75/100.

0.75%
= 0.75/100
= (0.75 x 100)/(100 x 100)
= 75/10000
= 75 ÷ 10000
= 0.0075

Percent is hundreths, (1/100) so multiply by .01:
.75 x .01 = .0075

Here it is real quick. 0.75% as a decimal is
0.0075 or seventyfive Ten-thousandths.

Further explanation:

Ok First 100% of something is all of that something. Right

And 50% of something is only half of that something. You with me so far.

Now, 1% of something is one one-hundredth or a hundredth of that something. For example, if i had a dollar and gave you 1% of that dollar or one onehundredth of my dollar, how much would i give you? A PENNY right!

Ok now for the transition to your question.

The number one(1) is located in the ones position in respect to the decimal system.

Then to the right of the number one(1) there lies a decimal. Right! And the number to the right of the decimal is in the tenths position meaning that it is a tenth of one(1).
1.1

If I were to read this number out loud I would say either one point one or one and a tenth.

Now notice your number has two numbers after the decimal. We alresdy now that the number (7) occupies the tenths position but the number five(5) occupies a position to the right of the seven(7).

This is called the hundredth position.

Now here is the trick, when you write out a percent like 65%, and you need to convert it to decimal notation, just shift the decimal two places to the left. And you get 0.65= the decimal of 65%.
So 0.75% as a decimal = 0.0075 .

So now if I were to read the number( 0.75% ) you wrote down aloud as a decimal, it would read seventyfive-ten thousandths or zero point zero-zero seven five (0.0075.)

This means if I gave you 0.75% or seventyfive Ten-Thousandths of MY DOLLAR, how much money would you have.

You ready... three quarters of a penny. Not 3 quarters as in seventy-five cents, I mean Just a three-fourths of a penny. Even though the US Treasury has never issued a 3-quarters of a cent coin, you probably could just round up to one cent.

So there you have it ,0.75% or seventy-five Ten-thousandths of a Dollar is equivalent 3/4 of a PENNY!!

So 0.75 % as a decimal is 0.0075 seventyfive Ten-thousandths.
