Maths scale problem..


The scale of the map is 1:8000 . If the area of a park on the map is 2 cm次 .
then the actual area of the park is !!??

====> As the scale provided for the map is a linear scale of 1:8000
so the area scale should be square on both side. i.e. 1: 64,000,000
If the area of a park on the map is 2 cm次 .
the actual area should be 2 sq cm x 64,000,000 = 128,000,000 sq cm ==> 128 sq metre.

Actual area = 2 / ( 1 / 8000 )²
=128,000,000cm²
=12800m²
