Mum bought some toys. 1/4 of them were cars and 5 of them were balls. If there were 4 more cars than balls, how many toys did Mum buy?

let x be the no. of cars and y be the total no. of toysx = 5 + 4 = 9
y/4 = 9
y = 4 x 9
y = 36
