Cannot format, reinstall XP or detect hard drive?

I tried to format my computer by using window XP disk, there is partition problem in the beginning that there is not enough space to install the XP, then it went worst and telling me it cannot detect the hard drive. At the same time it corrupted my flash drive that it cannot be detected or formatted anymore. It seems it will corrupt any hard drive that's connected to it. It happened on my Presario V6000 Compaq laptop. Finally I tried to reinstall window XP, expecting to press R and format C:, but it says cannot detect the hard drive. What should I do now? Please help me.

use a dos floppy dick with a disk tool such as hdd regenerator (which is shareware :allows a limited number of repairs) you might have any luck.Proceed with formatting your drive.

can your bios hit upon the difficult force if it does set your 1st boot device to cd rom. Insert your homestead windows xp disc and reboot and press any key to boot from cd while recommended to accomplish that. After setting up information are put in it is going to coach you your difficult force and any partions. Delete all partions and reformat to NTSF. device will restart and setting up a clean reproduction of homestead windows. notice all information would be deleted. do no longer forget to reset bios to boot from difficult force while carried out.

Your hard drive must have tons of bad sectors. If this is true, the setup itself will not detect your hard drive.
If your hard drive is detected, delete the C: partition (with other partitions if you want to) to make it unallocated. Select the unallocated partition to install XP.

depends on which type of format u do use before. NTFS or FAT32.
IF NTFS then same problem u may see again and again.
best idea is break all the partition. and format all the drive. then install it. or Ur XP Cd is lost the file. so it can be be happen that your XP CD is OK. if u failure again then use windows 89 for only making the partition. You can use partition magic 8 for partition Ur HDD.
