we factor out the t first as it is the common factor of the 2 terms.
t (5t-10) = 0
So we can now equate each factor by 0
t=0 | 5t = 10
| t=2
Answer (0,2)

First, 'pull' out the common factor. In this case, it's 5t.

5t(t-2)=0

We know that any number multiplied by 0 is equal to zero. We have two numbers here, 5t and t-2. If either one is equal to zero, then the equation will equal zero. So, set up two equations:

5t=0 or t-2=0

t=0 or t=2

Both numbers are your answers. If 't' is equal to either 0 or 2, then this equation will equal 0.

( 5t ) (t - 2) = 0
t = 0 , t = 2

5t^2 - 10t = 0
5t(t - 2) = 0

5t = 0
t = 0/5
t = 0

t - 2 = 0
t = 2

∴ t = 0 , 2

5t^2 - 10t - 0

a = 5
b = 10
c = 0

Quadratic equation states:
t = [-b +or- sqrt(b^2 -4ac)] / 2a

solving for 't' will give you your factors
= [10 +or- sqrt(100 - 4(5)(0)] / 2(5)
= [10 +or- 10] / 10
= 2 and 0

or by factors
(5t-0)(t-2)

Or just remove t from the left side of the equation to get
5t(t -2)

5t^2 - 10t = 0

Here, you can factor out a 5t
5t(t - 2) = 0

Set both factors equal to 0
5t = 0
t - 2 = 0

Solve for t and you get
t = 0
t = 2

Easy:

Take out 5t,

Thus,

5t (t-2) = 0

Thus t is an element of {0,2}

5(t^2-2t)=0

(x-2)(x+0)=0

x=2
x=0

x=2 or x=0
