✔ 最佳答案
x-10 +10 = 32 +10

x+0 =42

so x = 42

x = 42
Check
42 - 10 = 32
2008-04-08 5:13 pm
x - 10 = 32
x - 10 + 10 = 32 + 10 (adding 10 to both sides)
x = 42

if you add ten to both sides you get

x - 10 = 32
x - 10 + 10 = 32 + 10
x = 42

Take the like terms here here separate the variable x by adding 10 throughout
that will bring the equation to
x +10 -10 = 32 +10 ( If equals are added to equals the whole is equal)
x = 42

You want the value of x, and you have ten less than x. What do you do to x - 10 to have x on its own ?
Think of being 10 steps from the top of a ladder: you would hav to go up 10 steps to get to the top. You have to add 10 to x - 10 to have x on its own.
An equation is a balance: if you make one side more, you have to do the same to the other side so it remains balanced.
So you must add 10 to the other side as well:

x - 10 = 32

Add 10 to both sides:

x = 32 + 10

x = 42.

You should always check every equation you solve, by putting your answer into the original equation, to see if it fits:

x - 10 = 32. does 42 - 10 = 32 ? Yes, it does, so the answer x = 42 is correct.
