Suppose f ( x ) = ( x - 2 ) Q ( x ).f ( x + 1 ) = ( x + 1 - 2 ) Q ( x + 1 )
f ( x + 1 ) = ( x - 1 ) Q ( x + 1 )
Hence x - 1 is a factor of f ( x + 1 ).
