an object is placed in front of a lens. the table below shows the information of different cases. for each case find the magnification and the nature of the image

by 1/f=1/u+1/v
we can get the distance of image if we know the focal length and
object distance.
a)v=30, real, m=v/u=30/15=2
b)v=15, real, m=15/30=1/2
c)v=infinity, m=infinity
d)v=40, real, m=40/40=1
e)v=-30, virtual, m=30/15=2
f)v=-60, virtual, m=60/15=4
g)v=-10, virtual,m=10/20=1/2
h)v=-7.5,virtual, m=7.5/30=1/4

only (f) is wrong

it should be v=60/7

m=60/7x1/15

=4/7
