Solve the system using substitution.

5x - 3y = -4
x + y = -4

A. no solution
B. (-2,-2)
C. (-2,-3)
D. infinitely many solutions
E. (2,5)

Yep. Just as I predicted. Posting tons of nearly-identical questions, instead of learning the method from one answer so that you can do the rest.

-20-5y-3y=-4
-8y=-4+20
-8y=16
y=-2

x+(-2)=-4
x=-4+2
x=-2

the answer is B.(-2,-2)
