I have to go to the librairy to check my e-mail! He says he would undo it if he knew how, but he forgot the password to get onto the administrative user and so Im stuck in a controlled account without a thing to do. Please! this is a cry for help!
Okay, I don't like giving this out to the genral public, so if you rate me best, and give me your e-mail, I'll give you a quick, simple way to hack the admisistrator!!
Do you have service pack 2, if not then boot into safe mode and log into that administrator - by default it has no password,
if not there is a number of tools that you can get to reset or change the password but can be complex to do. Try having a google search XP password recovery
what kind of computer is it?
try calling customer care they should be able to help
but that really suck you can probably get the number of the computer companies customer care from the yellow pages or go back to the library and look it up on the computer
if you tell me what kind of computer it is i can look up the number for you... you can also take to the place that you bought it from they should be able to help you.
sometimes when you set up a password it usually has a security question that you should be able to answer
You can use the restore DVD or CDs that came with your computer to restore the operating system to its original condition. Choose the "restore with backup" option so that all the files that you and your dad had created will be saved in a separate folder.
take it to a laptop shop with a 'lab' ie a techy shop...and explain the situation...they will know how to hack it...and they MAY help if they beleve you...it would help to bring your dad and any documentation you have regarding this laptop...
if your dad really wants you to have free use of your computer, he would be able to unlock it. there are several ways to unlock it, and you can do it by yourself, there are alot of good suggestions from the answers people have provided you. however, i don't think that is the main issue. the main issue you have to deal with is earning your dad's trust. there was a reason why your dad locked it in the first place, and there is a reason why he is keeping it that way. it's not the end of the world that you can't access your email at home.
